Sacred Heart Altar and Rosary
will meet Sunday, Sept. 5th after Mass. This is the first meeting after summer break, so please plan to attend. Welcome back !!Psalm Bible Study coming to Sacred Heart in September. Rosary Walk: Please join in praying the Glorious Mysteries after Mass on Sunday, August 15, 2010. The Rosary will begin on the north side of the cemetery and donuts will be served at the cemetery after the Glorious Mysteries have been prayed. This day marks the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. There will be NO Rosary prior to Mass on this Sunday. Please join us at the cemetery after Mass.
Memorial Donations to the cemetery
that are equal to or in excess of one thousand dollars have the opportunity of engraving the loved one’s name on the base of the statue of the Sacred Heart. The committee has made this decision based on the cost of additional engraving. Engraving will be done when there are several names to be added. All donations to the cemetery are recorded in a book of donations.Heart of the Plains News

Just a reminder
Please burn only candles that are purchased from the church and only in the candle stands. Candles purchased elsewhere tend to break which would be a fire hazard.
top Would you like to give Mary or St. Joseph or add to the beauty of the altar with a bouquet of flowers on a Sunday of your choice. As a parish, we welcome families to join in this gift of love. Please pick a Sunday on put your name on the calendar at the back of the church. You may bring the flowers on the prior Friday or Saturday or just come a little early on Sunday. There are 4 Stations of the Cross benches left for sale in the Heart of the Plains Cemetery. The benches will arrive at Norman's Memorials the end of this month where they will be engraved and then delivered. For more information call Cindy Schellenberg at 303-849-5227.

Until further notice, Tuesday weekday Mass and Adoration will be at 5:00 PM. Mass will begin at 5:00 PM and Adoration will start immediately following Mass for about 1 hour. It is hoped that this might allow those who cannot attend morning Mass an opportunity for Daily Mass at a later time.
The Legion of Mary has a prison ministry outreach. They are in need of volunteers to remove the staples from booklets and magazines and then sew the binding with needle and upholstery thread so that they may be used at the prisons.
