Pope Francis Prayer Intentions for October 2017

Workers and the Unemployed: That all workers may receive respect and protection of their rights, and that the unemployed may receive the opportunity to contribute to the common good.

2017 Archbishop’s Catholic Appeal

“...your prayer has been heard and your almsgiving remembered before God.” (Acts 10:31) Donating to the 2017 Archbishop’s Catholic Appeal is a powerful way of storing up treasure in heaven. For when we help the needy, instruct the youth, offer companionship to the lonely, and lead others to the path of Christ, we perform these acts of mercy in imitation of Christ and in the sight of God, who will re-member our deeds of kindness. Please be generous. Please visit or call 303-715-3111 to make your gift today.

Consecration of the Archdiocese to Our Lady of Fatima

Archbishop Aquila has announced that he will consecrate the archdiocese to Our Lady of Fatima, entrusting to her Immaculate Heart the entire Archdiocese of Denver and all who live here. This will take place on October 13th. The parishes of Sacred Heart and Holy Family will be consecrated in conjunction with the Archdiocese. Those who wish to make their personal consecration to Jesus through Mary at that time should begin preparation on September 10th using the book 33 Days to Morning Glory or other approved consecration preparation books. The date was chosen to honor the 100th anniversary of Fatima and will promote unity throughout the archdiocese. It will be on the anniversary of the miracle of the sun witnessed by tens of thousands who came to believe and trust in the truth of the miracle of Fatima. We need to take this time to prepare our own hearts to have [them] formed by Mary and Jesus.

100th Anniversary of Fatima

We have been blessed in our Archdiocese to have Our Lady of Fatima parish designated by Pope Francis as a pilgrimage site during this 100th Anniversary of Fatima. Between October 23, 2016 and October 24, 2017, the faithful may visit the parish and receive a plenary indulgence under the conditions explained in the Denver Catholic. Please visit the website and scroll to the Denver Catholic for more information.
